Insulating hollow terracotta blocks, well shaded windows with heat reflective glass and roof insulation keep the interiors cool with minimal use of air-conditioners. Energy efficient fans and LED lights minimize energy consumption. A rooftop solar PV installation makes the home’s energy use almost net-zero. Natural plant root zone treatment of grey water allows the reuse for gardening. Eco-friendly interiors with Athangudi flooring and woodwork made from repurposed doors and windows make this a delightful home.
