Summary: An earth-friendly Chennai home with traditional aesthetics that take one back to simpler times.
A quintessential Chennai home that harks back to simpler times. Yet this home in Pallavaram has all the conveniences of a modern urban home while also being environmentally cutting-edge with eco-friendly materials and systems that considerably reduce the burden on Earth. Eco-friendly hollow terracotta blocks, heat reflective tiles on the roof and well shaded windows shield the interior spaces from Chennai’s heat. Jaalis and high vents create a constant draft through the home that keep the interiors airy and comfortable. Exquisite Athangudi flooring and woodwork repurposed from discarded shipping crates form stunning interiors.
