What makes this green?

This Vaastu compliant home features contemporary aesthetics highlighted by a custom designed coconut frond jaali on the main elevation. The house is well lit and ventilated by large windows that are well shaded. Walls made of insulated blocks and heat reflective tiles on the roof keep the interiors cool with minimal use of Acs. The staircase roof comprised of an 8 KW solar energy system that powers the house. Salvaged wood has been used for all doors, windows and interior woodwork. The house is also very water efficient with natural waste water treatment systems and comprehensive rain water harvesting.
